What the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award means
Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice recognition is based on traveller reviews and ratings collected on the platform over time. The award is therefore different from a judging-panel accolade. It is driven by guest feedback.
That makes the recognition especially meaningful to a small 16-cottage nature resort where the experience depends heavily on individual interactions, the landscape and the character of the stay.
What guests come to Blackberry Hills for
Blackberry Hills is spread across a 10-acre mountainside estate in the Pothamedu and Pallivasal valley landscape. The cottages are distributed across the natural slope rather than concentrated in one hotel block.

Recognition is not the reason the resort exists
Blackberry Hills began as an ecological restoration effort before hospitality became part of the project. The land was restored through native planting, soil-conservation work and a long-term effort to coexist with the mountain environment.
Hospitality later became a way to sustain and share that work. Awards are welcome, but they are outcomes rather than the purpose.
